IIEE – State of Qatar Chapter (IIEE-SQC) is a non- stock, non-profit, non-political, non- religious organization duly recognized as an accredited chapter of the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers of the Philippines, Incorporated. The Chapter exists under the guidance of the Institute and in accordance with the laws of the Republic of the Philippines.

The Philippine Regulation Commission (PRC), in accordance with Executive Order No. 835 dated October 6, 2009, announced that Special Licensure Board Examinations (SPLBE) will be held in Middle East Countries particularly in Saudi Arabia (Al Khobar and Riyadh), Abu Dhabi for UAE, and Doha in Qatar.

 

IIEE – State of Qatar Chapter's Mission is to deliver high-quality services and products for the purpose of instilling Excellence in the Electrical Practitioner, Enhancing the Electrical Profession, and Making a Positive Contribution to National development by conducting Technical Seminars, Trainings, Reviews, Mentoring Programmes, Symposiums, Gatherings, and Conventions.

 

IIEE – State of Qatar Chapter (SQC) conduct Sportsfests such as Bowling, Billiards, Table Tennis, and Dart Tournaments to encourage bonding, teamwork, build and foster camaraderie, and promote health among members and Filipino Electrical Practitioners.

As the Organization's continuing commitment to support our Embassy, we also contribute part of the proceeds to help our distressed "Kababayan" OFWs.

History

IIEE - SQC was founded on November 19, 2005  by 35 Founding Council Core Members and accredited as a Foreign Chapter by IIEE-National Office in Manila and the Philippine Embassy – Doha, Qatar, in December 2005.

Introduction

IIEE - SQC is a professional organization of practicing Electrical Engineers in Qatar  whose objective and purpose is geared with the Continuing Professional Education program of the Philippine Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), and assist in one way or another in the socio-civic activities of the Philippine Embassy in the State of Qatar.

About the Website

The IIEE-SQC Website was created on March 7, 2010 through the initiatives of IIEE-SQC’s 2010 Chapter President Engr. Robert Villanueva,PEE and former 2005&2006 Chapter President Engr. Mario Agbayani,PEE. The IIEE-SQC Website was officially introduced during the 2010 Mid-Year Convention. The IIEE-SQC Website was created to serve as a collaboration tool regarding the Organization’s events & activities.

A preliminary Electrical Safety Audit was conducted after a short meet with our ever busy Phil. Embassy POLO/OWWA - Labor Attache Leopoldo B. De Jesus. Accompanied by Hon. Leopoldo, the IIEE-SQC BODs see the rest of the POLO/OWWA building including the newly constructed Annex Room. A 3-part Workshop on How to Be an ASEAN Engineer (AER, ACPE, APEC) conducted by IIEE-SQC was successfully concluded last 16th July 2014 at Copthorne Hotel Doha, Qatar. The event is in response to the Letter of Memorandum received from Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz of DOLE thru Labor Attache' Leopoldo B. De Jesus and Ms. Amy Empaynado of POLO/OWWA to conduct an information campaign to promote and to encourage all qualified Filipino registered engineers to register in the Engineering Registry of ASEAN Economies. The event started with an invocation lead by Mrs. Laura Agbayani wife of IIEE-SQC Former President Mario Agbayani followed by a welcome address from IIEE-SQC Adviser Robert Mabulay. Our distinguished guests from POLO/OWWA Labor Attache Hon. Leopoldo B. De Jesus and Ms. Amy Empaynado shared inspirational and introductory speeches about registration in the Engineering Registry of ASEAN Economies. Before the workshop proper, all the participants have their Iftar (Ramadan) Dinner. The dinner gave opportunity for old and new colleagues to get-together and had some nice chats. The 3-part Workshop was presented by: FP Benjardi Wong - Part 1 "PTC, CASEE & ASEAN Engineers Register", IIEE-SQC Adviser Voltaire Cabreros - Part 2 "Cross Border Practice" and IFP Edgar Bernardino - Part 3 "Competency Standards for Professional Engineers, Engineering Technologists & Engineering Technicians". Our IIEE-SQC Ladies who were also present to support their husbands took the event as opportunity to bond and mingle with each other. They also managed to make some plans too! The event was concluded with a Closing Remarks from IIEE-SQC Chapter President - Chris Cadiente Special Thanks to IFP Edgar Bernardino and FP Benjardi Wong for co-chairing the event.
